First Posting
This is just the first posting on Leroy's recovery and is a little late since his fall came on Feb. 2nd. In the meantime it has snowed four inches making feeding the animals a little difficult and Leroy has been moved from Fayetteville to Little Rock. I'll fill in details as we go along.
Today Normie drove to LR to see Leroy at the rehab center. She made it a one day trip and is already back...she left at 7 a.m. and returned around 4:30 p.m. She said he looked fine but still couldn't get up and walk, his pelvic injury still isn't all the way healed and the doctors don't want any weight put on it yet.
I went out to feed the horses this morning about 7:20 and they're starting to act normal again since the snow last weekend. Usually they are waiting in the corral for their grain, but in the last several days they've been in the front field making me go get them. Yesterday they were waiting, and when I came and I called Springs name, she bolted down the trail by the side of the house and Baby and Brownie followed. Thunder just stood there as usual wondering where the others were going...he didn't really care. I fed Thunder and a few minutes later Brownie came back followed by Baby and then Spring. The cats, White and Siamese, were very happy now that the bad kitty has been removed, and are able to eat in peace finally. They know the sound of a can of cat food being opened and actually come up to the tack room now like they used to. When the tomcat was there they wouldn't even come near the food. Today I didn't see White, but Siamese was waiting on the fence for the food, and maybe something is spooking them again. The horses were pretty normal today, they were there in the corral, ate, and then left. Petey and Gypsy are always the same, with Petey trying to steal Gypsy's food before he eats his own, so I have to watch him and make sure he doesn't go out the doggy door before Gypsy is finished. This morning was cold, about 23 degrees though sunny, and that may be it for the terribly cold weather. This evening when I fed the dogs again, I filled the horses trough for about 20 minutes which put about 40 gallons in the tank. I found its a lot easier to use the faucet by the pool instead of the one next to the garage, and that hose leaks a lot less. Tomorrow I may put up the bridge over the ditch for the electrical service to the new barn. I think I will drive my truck around with it to the corral, since the bridge that Ryan built weighs around 100 pounds. We'll see what happens.
